Ranikhet is an ideal weekend getaway, as well as an useful starting
point for travellers setting out to discover the Kumaon Himalayas.
Thick pine cover, panoramic Himalayan view, neatly laid out township
and tonnes of fresh oxygen are what induces travellers to visit
Ranikhet.
Ranikhet weaves around itself an old world charm that has its roots
in the old British Raj. It was once the pet excursion ground of
Padmini, queen of the Katyuri King Sudhardev (1180 AD). Thick pine

Corbett National Park, Nainital, Mukteshwar, Almora and Kausani

Wayfarer Solitaire offers eight deluxe rooms all well furnished
and each with an individual open terrace facing the ranges. While
there is no television right now plans are afoot to establish a
well equipped recreation room. Running hot and cold water, wall
to wall floor covering, well lit rooms, a king size double bed,
relaxing chairs, a coffee table all add up to ensure a comfortable
stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are usually served in Dawat –
a 24 seater restaurant that offers Indian and Continental cuisine
on order. On special occasions arrangements are made for open air

Ranikhet is 385 Kms from Delhi and is a convenient
seven to eight hours drive by road or a comfortable overnight journey
to Kathgodam by the Ranikhet Express. Between Kathgodam and Ranikhet
(85 kilometres) there are regular taxis to ferry travellers. Thereafter,
Wayfarer Solitaire is located 11 Kms beyond Ranikhet town towards
Gagas at village Chaukhoni.
