There are several options for those wishing to experiment with soft adventure. A day's trek to the nearby villages like Darkot (4 Kms) and Daranti (7 Kms) can be quite an eye opener. The ten days trek to Milam from Munsyari and back involves a 58 kms walk along the Johar valley through Darkot, Lilam, Bugdiyar and the last Indian village - Milam. Another fascinating ten days trek from Munsyari is to the Nanda Devi base camp. Season Munsyari Wayfarer Mountain Resort Uttaranchal : Between April and June the day temperature is an average of 20oC while temperature at night is around 10oC. The early morning and late evening views of the Panch Chulli peaks are usually good. This is a good time to visit Munsyari for treks to Nanda Devi and other destinations. July and August are the peak monsoon months when getting to Munsyari becomes difficult because of unexpected land slides on the way. By mid-September the weather settles down, the views are excellent and the climate is good for short breaks to Munsyari. From late November the upper regions begin to receive snowfall and by mid December the entire area is covered with a blanket of snow. This is a splendid time to get to Munsyari. On a clear and sunny morning the entire place looks marvellous. Wayfarer Mountain Resort is open throughout
